Welcome to the San Mateo County BTSA Induction Project at the San Mateo County Office of Education!
Teachers participate in an unprecedented support system for new teachers to ensure that they are well prepared to meet the diverse needs of the students they serve.
New teachers spend two years being inducted into our profession, while being supported by a dedicated and highly skilled veteran teacher.
Together with their San Mateo County BTSA Induction Support Provider, they assess their current skills and understanding of the teaching, induction, and content standards and determine their strengths and areas for growth. Then they discuss, plan, teach, reflect, collaborate, revise, share, learn, and apply new strategies as they deepen their understanding and skills and demonstrate their competence as a professional educator.
Our hope is that through the BTSA Induction process, new teachers will flourish in the classroom and develop into powerful teacher leaders who will help shape the culture of your school and district.
