Brian Simmons, Director
Brian has most recently served as the Director of Professional Development Support for Springboard Schools (formerly BASRC) and brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of equity-driven systemic school reform, Program Improvement and professional development. Brian formerly worked at UC Berkeley and as a secondary educator in the San Francisco Unified School District.
Marco Chávez, Coordinator, Program Improvement/Categorical Programs and Accountability
Marco has worked in the education field for over 15 years. He has taught at the elementary through university levels, lead a school of diverse students as a Principal, and participated as a member of the Ravenswood City School District’s leadership team as the Director of Categorical Programs and Services to English Learners. He brings a strong background in professional development for teachers and administrators of English Learners as a PDCTEL (SB472 EL) trainer. As the Director of Categorical Programs, he provided technical assistance on state and federal programs and compliance. He is an advocate for all children with a special focus on underrepresented families.
Liz Wolfe, Coordinator, Program Improvement/Reading Language Arts
Liz has worked in the County of San Mateo for close to 30 years. She has held the positions of bilingual classroom teacher, bilingual resources teacher, Director of Bilingual Education, principal of Adelante Spanish Immersion School and Assistant Superintendent in the Redwood City School District. She has previously worked in the San Mateo County Office of Education as the Coordinator for English Learner Services. She looks forward to working with schools and districts to improve their instructional practices and supportive systems to better meet the needs of all children, with a particular focus on underperforming students.
